President

As part of PSI's outreach program to feature industry-wide discussion on relevant issues that focus on grade specifications, the first OCC Summit took place in April in Tunica, Mississippi. A summary of that event is available as a downloadable pdf below.
One of the hallmark features of the ISRI/PSI membership is the opportunity to participate in the evolution of grade specifications that are used in the buying and selling of scrap throughout our industry. Only ISRI and PSI members have a "seat at the table" when the grades are to be approved for inclusion in the specifications guide, whether that role is being a part of PSI's specifications committee or participating and voting on grade proposals.
If you're a PSI member, thank you for having a "seat at the table" and for your contributions in helping to keep the specs current for our industry. If you're not an ISRI/PSI member and want to get involved in the forefront discussions and fashioning of the specs, please contact Joel Litman, PSI President, at (214) 357-0262 or by email at jlitman@texasrecycling.com for membership information. Whether you are a processor, consumer, or broker, your participation is an important part of our industry as our business continues to transform to meet the needs of our constituents.  Don't go at it alone. Get involved and become a member.

May 2013

The PSI community mourns the loss of Ray Petermeyer, who passed away at age 88 after a battle with cancer. Ray was president of PSI from 1998-2000, and also served on the Board of Directors of ISRI. Ray spent 65 years in the paper recycling industry, managing operations for several companies on the west coast. He started E-Z Recycling in Portland, Oregon in 1980, which merged in 1982 with Far West Fibers, where he worked until his retirement.

Memorial donations can be made in Ray's name to:
